The Sopris Roughy is our replacement for the Sopris Classic Saddle, the saddle that spawned our business in 1985. (The Classic saddle was retired in 2016 but we will continue to service this saddle.)

Like the Classic, the Roughy is a frame saddle with hardwood horns. Two curved plastic bars (3/16”x 4”x 17 1/2”) attach to the horns, providing plenty of spinal clearance and a comfortable fit. The Roughy is durable, lightweight, weather-resistant, and easy to use, making it a good choice for commercial, recreational, and performance packing.

Use with the Sopris Deluxe Panniers, the Sopris Deluxe Lite Panniers, the Sopris Standard Panniers, and the Sopris Intermediate Panniers.

The Sopris name is branded (faintly) on the FRONT SADDLE HORN and also on the underside of the front two PLASTIC BARS (rounded end) identifying the FRONT of the Saddle. It is important that the saddle be placed in this position on the llama’s back.

Velcro strips on the bottom of the saddle attach to the Sopris Split Pad.
