Sopris Roughy Saddle with Quick Draw Cinches

The Sopris Roughy is our replacement for the Sopris Classic Saddle, the saddle that spawned our business in 1985. (The Classic saddle was retired in 2016 but we will continue to service this saddle.)

Like the Classic, the Roughy is a frame saddle with hardwood horns. Two curved plastic bars (3/16”x 4”x 17 1/2”) attach to the horns, providing plenty of spinal clearance and a comfortable fit. The Roughy is durable, lightweight, weather-resistant, and easy to use, making it a good choice for commercial, recreational, and performance packing.

The Sopris name is branded (faintly) on the FRONT SADDLE HORN and also on the underside of the front two PLASTIC BARS (rounded end) identifying the FRONT of the Saddle. It is important that the saddle be placed in this position on the llama’s back.

Two QUICK RELEASE BUCKLES on the FRONT of the pad connect the diagonal strap on the chest strap. Within each cover is a 5/8”thick felt pad, surrounded by 1/4” closed-cell foam. The design allows for custom fit on extreme sizes and shapes of llamas.
